Complementary Health Participation Insurance

Under the Supplementary Contribution Health Insurance scheme, the co-payment you would otherwise have to pay for outpatient or inpatient healthcare services received at private hospitals contracted with the Social Security Institution (SGK) – whether due to a health issue or an accident – can be covered, meaning you won’t have to worry about healthcare costs.
Who Can Take Out This Policy?
It provides cover for individuals under the age of 60. There is no upper age limit for taking out cover.
Children under the age of 18 may be included in the cover under a family policy or as a single child. (Children aged 0–5 cannot be covered for inpatient and outpatient treatment on their own.)
In the case of switching from another insurance company, individuals aged 50 or over will not be accepted as switch customers. Should such individuals wish to take out cover with our company, their application will be processed as a new policy and standard risk assessment conditions will apply.
Where is it valid?
This is valid at healthcare institutions that have an agreement with the SGK and are part of our company’s ‘Complementary Network of Contracted Institutions’.
In a hospital contracted with the SGK, the doctor carrying out the insured person’s treatment must also be contracted with the SGK and be a permanent member of the hospital’s medical staff.
