
Compulsory Earthquake Insurance (DASK)
Under Mandatory Earthquake Insurance, direct property damage caused by earthquakes—as well as fires, explosions, and landslides resulting from earthquakes—to insured buildings and their foundations is covered by the Natural Disaster Insurance Institution.
Under Mandatory Earthquake Insurance:
- Direct property damage caused by an earthquake to insured buildings (including damage to foundations, load-bearing walls, common walls separating independent units, ceilings and floors, staircases, landings, hallways, roofs, and chimneys),
- Property damage directly caused by fire, explosion, tsunami, and landslides resulting from an earthquake are covered up to the insured amount specified in the policy.
