Cheque Accident Insurance

This is an insurance policy that, in the event of the death of an individual using a cheque book as a result of an accident, or in the event of total and permanent disability resulting from an accident, prevents the individual or their heirs from suffering financial hardship by settling their outstanding cheque debts.

All cheque book holders aged between 18 and 65 are eligible to take out a Cheque Accident Insurance policy.

Cheque debts ranging from 100,000 to 700,000 Turkish Lira are settled according to the selected package.

Coverage Provided by Cheque Insurance

Accidental Death Cover

  • In the event of the insured person’s death during the term of the insurance, this cover guarantees the payment of outstanding cheques, subject to the provisions of the relevant legislation and the terms of the contract.

Cover for Total and Permanent Disability Resulting from an Accident

  • This cover comes into effect if the insured person suffers a definitive, total and permanent disability as a result of an accident, whether work-related or otherwise, during the period of insurance.
  • The compensation calculated in accordance with the Special Conditions of the Personal Accident and Permanent Disability Supplementary Cover shall be paid immediately to the beneficiaries, subject to compliance with statutory provisions and the terms of the contract.
  • The insurance cover and benefits of the person in respect of whom the total and permanent disability benefit has been paid shall cease.
  • A disability rate of at least 61 per cent is deemed to constitute total disability.
  • Earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions and landslides are included within the scope of cover.

Circumstances Recognised as Accidents

  • Road traffic accidents, accidents at work and in the home
  • Accidents resulting from mugging and acts of terrorism
  • Damage caused by earthquakes, floods and landslides
  • Injuries to muscles and nerves, and sprains resulting from sudden movements
  • Accidents arising from playing football and basketball without a licence
