Sustainability Governance

As Emlak Katılım, we established our Sustainability Committee and its Sustainability Working Groups (Corporate Sustainability Working Group, Financial Sustainability Working Group and Climate Risk and Reporting Working Group) in 2022 in order to integrate sustainability into our corporate governance, monitor and effectively manage our ESG commitments.

These working groups are tasked with establishing our Bank's sustainability strategy and policies in their respective fields and implementing them following Committee approval. Monitoring sustainability targets and presenting performance results annually to the Sustainability Committee are also the responsibility of the working groups. Working Groups regularly monitor global and local developments, public regulations and industry trends related to their fields; they inform the Sustainability Committee about new risks and opportunities and present recommendations. The organization of trainings and projects to increase institutional and individual awareness regarding sustainability is also monitored through Working Groups. As Emlak Katılım, another responsibility we undertake is to contribute to the development of a sustainability network in the finance and real sector, especially the participation banking ecosystem; our Working Groups also operate within this scope.

Our Sustainability Service, which we established in 2023 under the umbrella of the Investment Banking and Investor Relations Directorate, enables the Working Groups and Sustainability Committee to carry out their work more quickly and effectively.
