As Emlak Katılım, we play a leading role in sustainability in the Turkish participation banking sector. We believe that the financial sector should play a significant role within the scope of Türkiye's net zero emission commitments, and in this regard, we consider our sustainability activities as a fundamental component of our business strategies, with awareness of our ethical, environmental and social responsibilities.
We address our sustainability actions along two main axes:

• Integrating sustainability into our corporate governance mechanism and managing Environmental, Social and Governance risks,
• To provide financial products and services that will support the Republic of Türkiye's commitments regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its sustainable development.

At Emlak Katılım, we have integrated sustainability principles into our business model and strategy. In light of our ESG-focused perspective, we focus on four key themes:

• Innovative and Responsible Finance

Additionally, by implementing digitalization and fintech applications, we increase the traceability of our operational processes and improve our reporting system.

With the ongoing project we launched in 2022, we are renewing our Bank's sustainability strategy and goals, policy and ESG risk management structure.

The role of finance is crucial in creating a greener and more sustainable economy. As Emlak Katılım, we are working to best support the commitments made by the Republic of Türkiye within the scope of the Paris Climate Agreement and the steps taken for sustainable development. In this context, we develop innovative products and services that will facilitate sustainable investments, especially in renewable energy, recycling, green buildings and energy and water efficiency projects in agriculture. We prioritize financing projects that promote sustainable development and local production and contribute to economic growth.

In addition to green financing, we continue our work on innovative financial models that will lead to social welfare and development. We aim to expand access to financial services for sustainable development. We also plan various communication activities, including social responsibility projects, to raise individual and corporate awareness about sustainability.

Environmental and Social Impact

Our environmental and social impact is closely linked not only to our financial results but also to the sustainability of our society and our world. Therefore, we attach importance to our commitments and strategies regarding creating environmental and social impact.

Aware of our social responsibilities, we monitor the environmental impacts of our activities and include our stakeholders in our decision-making processes. By addressing these important dimensions that shape our bank's sustainability journey, we implement strategies that create value for both our environment and our society. These efforts will continue to encourage society to pay more attention to environmental issues, to spread sustainability to the masses and to support a social transformation for a more sustainable future.

We focus on reducing carbon emissions with the aim of minimizing our environmental impact. To achieve this goal, we implement measures such as increasing energy efficiency, investing in renewable energy sources, and developing sustainable production processes. The importance we, as Emlak Katılım, attach to this issue is demonstrated by the use of highly energy efficient lighting and air conditioning systems and the solar energy system we have installed.

As Emlak Katılım, we implement a Zero Waste management system and have zero waste certificates in our headquarters and all our branches. We have carried out and plan to carry out future studies on waste prevention, reduction and recycling. We are working on digitalization to reduce paper use in our purchasing processes.

As Emlak Katılım, we believe that a people-oriented approach is our most valuable asset in shaping the future of business. We aim to raise awareness of sustainability by carrying out social responsibility projects, training programs for our employees and effective communication activities in order to increase sustainability awareness both in society and among our company employees.

By providing qualified training opportunities to each of our employees, we aim to increase their knowledge and skills in sustainability areas and to ensure that they fulfill their individual responsibilities in the priority areas of our company.
